I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND THE FRENCH DUB OF ZEXAL AND IT IS AS GLORIOUS AS I COULD HAVE IMAGINED.
A few things I noticed:
- Yuma does not sound like Spongebob. However this is offset by the fact that everyone sounds like they’re 20. Everyone.
- The script is pretty much translated word-for-word from the English dub. It also uses the edited video and dub soundtrack. This is not surprising.
- ASTRAL HAS A DEEP SEXY VOICE (SEE: 16:50 AND 17:39) I CANT-
- Yuma still has a few catchphrases. The only one I can make out is “Je m’élève vers le ciel” - which means “I’ll rise to the sky!”. There’s another one that it definitely similar to “feeling the flow” but I can’t make it out exactly what Yuma’s saying just yet.
I’ve been looking for French shows to watch, so I’m definitely going to be watching French Zexal this summer. I haven’t heard Shark or Kaito’s voices in French, but I bet they’re both amazing.
